Overview

Use this section to customise Yellowfin settings, such as authentication, integration (headers, footers, and navigation), page formatting, email server and defaults, system parameters, and regional settings.

Authentication

Define settings to be used for User Authentication.

User Authentication

User Authentication settings include the method to be used (Yellowfin or LDAP), the ID type (User Name or Email Address), Client Org Functionality, etc.

See LDAP for more information

Password Settings

Password settings allow you to define the requirements the user must meet when creating their password, for example, they may need to have a minimum of 6 letters, with upper case, lower case, and numeric values. You can also define the number of attempts before a user is locked, and the Remember Me function.

Integration

This area allows you to define customisation settings such as the use of Headers, Footers, Navigation, and Timeout pages. This means that as an Administrator, you have the opportunity to hide standard Yellowfin display components such as the Header and Footer, and specify the location of any custom files you may wish to use in their place.

Page Format

Provides options related to the display of components in Yellowfin, often customised in conjunction with the options available on the Integration tab. These settings include the default width of the dashboard display in the system and its position, the display of the standard Yellowfin toolbar and Search, and the inclusion of current session information in the Page Header.

Dashboard

Allows you to customise the display, layout, and usage of Dashboards on a system-wide basis.

Email

This is where you set up the email server settings to be used by Yellowfin when pushing out content and notifications such as Email Broadcasts.

Outgoing Mail Server

Define your mail server to be used by Yellowfin when sending out emails.

Settings

Here you can define standard settings for Yellowfin to use when emailing and generating links to content. You can specify the URL to be used for links to content, the support email address users can send any error reports to, and the default name and email address Broadcasts are sent from.

System Parameters

System Parameters

This allows you to define general system defaults, including date settings (time zone, financial year start, week start), Logos (system wide and org level), etc.

Custom Parameters

Custom Parameters are used with the Link To URL function. They allow you to use a variable as part of a link in a field. See the following example: http://www.yellowfinbi.com/YFForum-What-are-Custom-Parameters-used-for-?thread=98630

Regional Settings

Define region-based settings, such as default fonts (to be used for special character requirements dependant on language), date and name formats, and numeric defaults.

Storyboard

Allows you to customise the way Storyboard slides are preloaded during viewing.
