The first thing you'll need to learn in order to use Yellowfin is how to navigate around the system. The main navigation items are found in the ribbon at the top of each page. This contains different items, depending on where you are in the system.

This menu provides access to the main components of Yellowfin, based on a user's role permissions. Clicking on the Administration option provides you with a list of the most commonly used Administration features, as well as a General link to take you to the main page.

A Report Search and Inbox are also found in this menu, providing two methods of accessing your reports, in addition to the Report List link and Dashboard content.

Users are also able to access the My Profile area from this menu, providing them with options to customise the way they interact with the system.

There are several builders in Yellowfin; Source Connection, View, and Report. These take you through the steps involved in creating their respective pieces of content. Users can click on the arrow buttons to progress through the builder steps in order, or click on the number buttons to jump directly to a particular step in the process.

Once the data and output styles have been defined through the report wizard you can define the formatting options on the output page to create presentation quality reports.
